Choreographer/Artistic Director
My aim as a choreographer and performer is to push towards the future grounded with historical context.
Educator
It is my objective for students to leave my classroom challenged and working toward self-actualization. I provide an environment for my students to take risks and explore what is possible. My intention is to cultivate passion, creativity, joy and adventure in students.
As an educator, I am committed to being a life-long learner and continually evolving. I am passionate about maintaining a sense of curiosity. As bell hooks mentions in Teaching To Transgress, I share her philosophy of continuing to -“…practice being vulnerable in the classroom, being wholly present in mind, body and spirit.” (hooks, p. 21) .
I encourage students to enjoy the journey while they forge the path of learning. This is the opportunity of education and my joy in pedagogy.
